First off, I would like to thank everyone who participated in "An
Evening of Magic" on September 26th at the Faith Lutheran
Church. Jim Folkl was terrific as a last minute Master of
Ceremonies and I also would like to thank Montise, who Paul sent
over from the Wunderground Magic, for coming in to do his silk
magic. Thank you to Randy, Dan and to Jim for coming in to
perform magic and take pictures of us while we were on
stage. Gordon was simply magnificent with his illusions and
everyone enjoyed the magic of Bill and Karl Rabe. It was decided
that all the monies raised for this fundraiser to go to the Church
due to the small size of the audience.
Barry Mitchell's lecture at our last meeting was well attended
and it was most interesting. He had a nice assortment of magic to
choose from after he spoke to us. You can contact him at his
website and purchase his tricks there too.
Sunday, October 26th is our Magic Flea Market in
Belleville,MI at the Van Buren Eagles Club. (The address for it is
9961 Beck Rd., Belleville, MI) Tables are $10.00 for Members and
$20.00 for non-members. Also, even if Members bring their own
tables, it will still be $10.00 per table. Admission is $5.00 and the
doors will open at 12 Noon for Vendors and 1:00 PM for the
Public. Please do invite your fellow magicians to this event. There
will be an auction there.
The theme for our October 8th Meeting is Halloween Magic
so please do bring something spooky and haunting there. Our
meeting is at the Faith Lutheran Church and it begins at it's usual
time of 7:00 PM. If you want to bring some Halloween treats there
to pass around, please do. There will be an Officers Meeting at 6:00 PM before the General Meeting.
We do need to form an Entertainment Committee for
Michigan Magic Day 2016. We already have performers already
who would like to perform and do lectures there. Marvin would
like all the magicians live in Michigan in order to take part in it.
Speaking of Marvin, in case you haven't heard, he is in
the Ann Arbor St. Joseph Hospital and may be in there for six
more months. He had a stroke but the doctors found something
more serious with his heart. Please do pray for him and do visit
him when you have a chance to do so.
